CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

911 DISPATCHER

Our Communication Officers are responsible for managing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching law enforcement personnel, and ensuring effective communication within the department. This role is crucial for maintaining public safety and providing timely assistance to the community.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer and process emergency and non-emergency calls efficiently and accurately.
  • Dispatch law enforcement officers and other emergency responders to various incidents.
  • Monitor and operate radio communication equipment and other communication systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of calls, dispatches, and incidents.
  • Provide information and support to law enforcement personnel and the public.
  • Assist in coordinating responses to emergencies and coordinating with other agencies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.

DETENTION OFFICER

Our Detention Officers (or Jailers) oversee the safety and security of inmates within the county detention facility, ensuring compliance with all regulations and maintaining a secure environment. All officers must be responsible and vigilant.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise inmates in various settings, including housing units, recreational areas, and visitation.
  • Conduct routine security checks and inspections to maintain order and safety.
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations, addressing any violations promptly.
  • Assist in the intake and release of inmates, including processing documentation and conducting searches.
  • Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents, providing assistance as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records and reports on inmate activities and any incidents that occur.

DEPUTY SHERIFF

The Sheriff's Deputies are  responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and protecting the rights and property of citizens within Seminole County.
