A new offender moving into the county or being released from incarceration must report to the Sheriff's Office of residence within 72 house. Any change of address or employment must be reported within 72 hours.

The offender is required to report to teh Sheriff's Office within 72 hours prior to their birthday to complete the re-registration process. This includes having a new photograph and a new set of fingerprints taken. Additionally, offenders classified as Sexually Dangerous Predators must also report six months later.
In an effort to ensure compliance, our office has created a rotating schedule to verify the residence of offender every three months.

If the offender is currently on probation, and it is a condition of his/her sentence that they cannon be around children, then the answer is NO.
If the offender is no longer on probation or parole or if the restriction was not part of the court sentence, then the answer is YES, he/she may be around children.
Yes, and can particiapte in church activities. The offender cannot volunteer to operate the daycare or other such functions where they offender would be supervising minors.
Yes, provided the offender/predator has a child enrolled, has a purpose for being there, and does not loiter before or after the needed time. (Such as arriving too far in advance or lingering too long afterwards.)

If the date of the offense was prior to June 4, 2003, then there are no restrictions on residence or employment.
If the date of the offense was later than July 1, 2008, then the offender cannot reside within 1,000 feet of any childcare facility, church, school, or area where minors congregate. Areas where children congregate include parks, playgrounds, recreational facilities, public swimming pools., and libraries.The registered offender cannon be employed or volunteer with any childcare facility, church, school or at or by any business or entity that is located within 1,000 feet of such location.

By Georgia Statute O.C.G.A. 42-1-12 (a) (21). "Sexually Dangerous Predators" means a sexual offender:
(a) who was designeated as a sexually violent predator between July 1, 1996 and June 30, 2006; or
(b) who is determined by the Sexual Offender Registration Review Board to be at risk of perpetrating any future dangerous sexual offense.
Under current law, the offender must register for life unless removed by order of a court or other legal means.
